I met this lovely momma-to-be (for a second time!) a few years ago. A mutual friend was having a party, and we both showed up pregnant. While hanging out with our bottled water — oh the joys of parties and pregnancies! — we learned her due date was a mere week or two later than mine, so we had lots in common. When she went into labour early and had her daughter on the exact same day that I had my son, well, we had even more in common! Even though we had only met once, we met regularly for play dates over the course of our maternity leaves, and it was so nice to have someone to talk to who was experiencing the same baby ups and downs that I was. With a baby boy now on the way, family photos were in order to document this time of three, before they become four.

We are so excited to finally show everyone the shots from our session with baby Cameron, the winner of the City Parent Spring Baby Book cover contest (you can read our post about the contest here). He is such a little cutie and was a joy to photograph — so happy and smiley!

This is the final magazine cover. The editors had a hard time picking the best shot!

Thank you to Cameron and his family for making the drive for the photo session — we think he is the perfect cover baby! And thank you to City Parent for choosing us to photograph the cover of this issue. What a fun morning!

This past weekend, the weather was wet and cold. No hope of any sessions with Mother Nature turning on us like that after treating us to such a beautiful March. Anyone with a toddler knows that spending the entire day in the house is just not an option, well, not a sane option anyways. We needed an indoor activity, so we decided to take Cooper to check out the butterflies at the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory. It’s always fun taking Cooper to see something for the first time. Watching the expression on his face always makes us smile!

Every time we leave the house, Brian is wearing a backpack. He’s not heading out to school or carrying it for our son — inside is all his camera equipment. Whether it’s for a short walk in town or a family outing, his camera is with him almost all the time. That’s why he’s at the ready when we come across scenes like this, which are totally unexpected and beautiful to behold. Our hard drive is filled with gorgeous landscapes, nature scenes and other treasures that we come across while running errands, driving to the mall or other day-to-day tasks.

We are excited that you will be able to share in this particular moment, called “Misty Morning”, thanks to dsktps.com! Brian’s image is featured on the website, which showcases beautiful images that you can download for free as wallpaper for the desktop of your personal computer.

Enjoy!
